My Story
In the winter of 1985, I was a sixteen-year-old teenager who was miserable and lost in sin. At the time, I was a junior at Robert Lee High School in Midland, TX. A few weeks earlier, I had seriously thought about committing suicide while sitting at a park and trying to get drunk or high. As I sat there feeling miserable and empty inside, I looked up to heaven and simply cried out, “God is all there is to this life”? A few weeks later on Sunday, December 1, 1985, I attended a small church called The Door Christian Fellowship Church where I heard the preaching of the Gospel and God's forgiveness. At the end of the service, the Pastor pulled an altar call and gave a challenge to repent and turn to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. It was then that I made a decision to repent of my sins and I gave my life to Jesus Christ. A few months after my salvation, I went with the church to help evangelize the city of San Angelo for Jesus. Our church band and drama teams were performing, and it was while I was sitting at a music scene in San Angelo, TX, that God called me to preach. So, on June 6, 1995, my wife and one-and-a-half-year-old son and I went to pioneer our first church in San Angelo, TX. We labored there for twelve and half years and God built a great, solid, and powerful church. We then answered the call to pioneer once again and on November 20, 2007, my family and I moved to Fargo, ND to pioneer our second church. Again, God was faithful, and we established another powerful church as we labored there for nine years. During the Prescott Bible conference in January 2017, my wife and I were asked to Pastor the church in Midland. So, we took the responsibility of the church on January 16, 2017. In the very city where God had gloriously saved both my wife and I, God had brought us full circle.
